One thing we had noticed each night was that he was wiggling so much that he was working his arms out of his swaddle blanket and that was waking him up. So we finally decided that it was time to wean him out of the swaddle. He's just gotten too strong for it at this point. It wasn't easy at first for him to fall asleep so we just let him keep one arm out. Friday night was the first time we tried it and he slept for 5 hours straight, only getting up once that night. Last night he went cold turkey without being swaddled and again slept for 5 hours!! This morning when I put him down for his nap he fussed a tiny bit for about 10 min. and then feel asleep. Here's a picture I took to remember this very momentus day. Ahhh...

Free at last
We have had a really rough week this past week because each night Chase was getting up every 2 hours every single night. Matt and I were averaging about 3 hours (broken up of course) of sleep each night. We tried cereal in his milk. We tried putting his pacifier back in his mouth and not feeding him. We tried changing him and then putting him back down. We tried taking turns and Matt getting up sometimes and me getting up sometimes. He still got up every 2 hours like clock work no matter what we tried or what we did. After 3 nights in a row we were barely making it through work each day so we decided to take up Bebe and Pops on their offer to keep Chase for a night so we could get a little sleep. I felt like I might be overreacting a litle but finally called the doctor on Thurs. (our bad nights started last Sunday). They told me to bring him in to make sure there was nothing physically wrong. Luckily he got a good check-up (updated weight: 12 lbs. 12 oz.) and the doctor said that he was most likely going through a growth spurt.
